This floor sanding and restoration project in Sevenoaks involved refreshing Canadian Oak strip flooring that had gradually discoloured over time. Floor sanding and restoration in Sevenoaks

The existing varnish had worn unevenly and developed a noticeably warm, orange hue, which no longer suited the space. To correct this, the floor was fully sanded back to bare timber, removing the old finish and restoring the natural character of the oak.

Once prepared, the floor was sealed and finished with Loba 2K Fusion in a matt sheen, providing a durable, hard-wearing surface while maintaining a subtle, understated appearance. The final result was a cleaner, more balanced tone that enhanced the natural grain of the timber and significantly modernised the room.

Why professional floor sanding matters

Correct preparation and finishing play a vital role in the longevity, appearance and safety of timber floors. Professional sanding techniques help achieve a level, consistent surface, while the correct finishing system protects the timber from wear and ongoing maintenance issues.

In larger or high-use spaces, careful product selection and application methods are especially important to ensure durability and safe performance over time.
