Floor sanding and restoration in Bexleyheath
To ensure a uniform appearance throughout the space, the entire floor was professionally sanded, allowing the newly patched sections to blend naturally with the original boards. Although the floor was in relatively good condition prior to sanding, a full sand was essential to eliminate height differences and tonal variations caused by the recent alterations.
Once sanding was complete, the floor was finished with Bona Mega in a Silk Matt sheen, providing a durable, low-sheen finish that offers excellent protection while maintaining a natural look. The result was a clean, consistent surface with no visible transitions between old and new flooring, giving the client a cohesive finish throughout the room.
Why professional floor sanding matters
Correct preparation and finishing play a vital role in the longevity, appearance and safety of timber floors. Professional sanding techniques help achieve a level, consistent surface, while the correct finishing system protects the timber from wear and ongoing maintenance issues.
In larger or high-use spaces, careful product selection and application methods are especially important to ensure durability and safe performance over time.
