Engineered oak floor sanding and restoration in Eltham

We were instructed to sand and restore this engineered oak floor, which had been affected by UV exposure and general wear. Particular care was taken throughout the sanding process to remove the damage while preserving the integrity of the hardwood wear layer.

Once sanding was complete, the floor was buffed using a fine abrasive system before being thoroughly vacuumed and prepared for finishing. Three coats of Bona Traffic lacquer were then applied in a matt finish to provide long-term durability and resistance to everyday use.

The completed floor now has a clean, even appearance with improved protection, making it well suited to busy residential environments.

Why professional floor sanding matters

Correct preparation and finishing play a vital role in the longevity, appearance and safety of timber floors. Professional sanding techniques help achieve a level, consistent surface, while the correct finishing system protects the timber from wear and ongoing maintenance issues.

In larger or high-use spaces, careful product selection and application methods are especially important to ensure durability and safe performance over time.
