Engineered oak floor sanding in Greenwich

This Greenwich floor sanding project required a cautious and precise approach due to the engineered oak flooring having a wear layer of approximately 2mm.

The floor was carefully sanded to remove surface wear without compromising the hardwood layer beneath. Once the surface was fully prepared and refined, the floor was thoroughly vacuumed before finishing began.

To ensure maximum durability, particularly suited to everyday use, the floor was sealed with three coats of heavy-duty ceramic lacquer in a matt finish. This provided long-lasting protection while maintaining a clean, natural appearance.

Why professional floor sanding matters

Correct preparation and finishing play a vital role in the longevity, appearance and safety of timber floors. Professional sanding techniques help achieve a level, consistent surface, while the correct finishing system protects the timber from wear and ongoing maintenance issues.

In larger or high-use spaces, careful product selection and application methods are especially important to ensure durability and safe performance over time.
