Timber floor sanding and restoration in Kent
We were instructed to restore this original timber floor after it was uncovered beneath existing carpet. A small number of missing boards were first sourced and installed to ensure a consistent finish across the floor.
Once complete, the floor was fully sanded, filled and prepared before being primed with a solvent-based system to enhance the grain and depth of the timber. Two coats of satin lacquer were then applied to provide durability while maintaining a balanced, classic appearance.
The finished floor now has a clean, even surface with improved protection, allowing the natural character of the timber to be fully appreciated.
Why professional floor sanding matters
Correct preparation and finishing play a vital role in the longevity, appearance and safety of timber floors. Professional sanding techniques help achieve a level, consistent surface, while the correct finishing system protects the timber from wear and ongoing maintenance issues.
In larger or high-use spaces, careful product selection and application methods are especially important to ensure durability and safe performance over time.
